SygtStærk

A community for young people living with illness
SygtStærk is a community for young people aged 13 to 24 who live with a chronic or serious physical illness. Here, young people meet as equals, share experiences, and find strength in being part of a community.
SygtStærk offers both long-term creative and co-creative group programs – Making It – as well as a range of thematic clubs where young people come together to exchange experiences about life as young and ill.
In the short term, SygtStærk aims to strengthen courage and agency among young people. In the long term, we work toward systemic change – especially within the education system – to ensure that young people living with illness have better opportunities to complete their education.

Created together with the young people themselves
All of SygtStærk’s activities are the result of co-creation. This means that the young participants help shape the content, methods, and framework – ensuring that SygtStærk is always grounded in their realities and needs.
SygtStærk also has a storytelling corps that can be booked for various events. The young storytellers share honest, moving, and inspiring stories about what it’s like to be young and ill – and about finding strength in vulnerability.

A digital community in the making
In 2026, SygtStærk will take the next step toward digitalization. We are developing an app that will serve both as a digital community for young people and as a tool to document their journeys of change through SygtStærk.
SygtStærk warmly welcomes collaboration with volunteers, organizations, and professionals who share our vision of creating better conditions for young people living with illness. We invite co-creation around youth perspectives, participation, ideas for creative life-mastery programs – and any other relevant partnerships.
