The Climate Cocktail Relay Has Reached Nordvest

Kick-start your weekend a little early!

On Thursday, January 8 from 16:00–18:00, Thoravej29 opens its doors for the first Climate Cocktail of the year – an informal Thursday bar where you can meet people working with everything from sustainability and art to social innovation, democracy, digital development and politics.
At the same time, you’ll get the opportunity to experience the transformation of the former industrial building, which today stands as an open, modern and highly sustainable architectural hub for communities.

There is room here for both big visions and down-to-earth conversations – the perfect setting for this edition of Climate Cocktail, where we clear space for exactly that. Together, we set off strong and toast to the new green year!
After two successful Climate Cocktails on Amager, the relay baton has now been passed to Thoravej29, which invites all of Copenhagen to an inspiring afternoon filled with hyggelig atmosphere, networking and new connections.

Climate Cocktail is created by Miljøpunkt Amager in collaboration with Amager Grønne Nabofællesskaber, Kulturhuset Islands Brygge, Ørestad Innovation City Copenhagen and more.

The purpose is simple: to grow a community around the green transition, where curious and committed people can meet across professions, districts and backgrounds. The more the relay travels through the city, the larger the network grows – and the stronger the connections become across green Copenhagen.

Søren Pihlmann and the Bikuben Foundation have won this year’s Renovation Award for the redesign and financing of Thoravej29 because:
“The project excels through uncompromising reuse: 95 percent of the original materials have been reused directly on site, reducing CO₂ emissions by up to 88 percent and construction waste by 90 percent. The raw, honest aesthetic unites concrete surfaces, visible installations and patina with flexible frameworks for community and societal engagement.”
