Art as a Driver of Change

Hemmersbach Studio works to make art a visible, practical, and strategic capacity in Denmark – not decoration, but a way to create new connections between people, knowledge, and systems. With a background in the social sciences and experience across multiple industries – from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the startup scene to many years in the art sector – they act as an adapter: translating between disciplines, gathering the right partners, and co-developing formats that can be applied in practice – and that truly make a difference.

Collaboration Across Sectors

Hemmersbach Studio works both independently and in collaboration with municipalities, regions, foundations, businesses, civil society, and artists. The task is to find the right mix of skills and responsibilities. They facilitate processes and anchor them in operations: roles, time, space, and budgets. Together, they document the impact so that learning and value sharpen over time, can be shared, and scaled.

From Cases to Structures

Hemmersbach Studio works from concrete interventions towards lasting change.

  • Cases, pilots & partners: Development of specific artistic formats and initiatives – in organizations, teams, and in encounters with citizens/users.
  • Operations & development of the existing: Further development of what you already do: micro-structures (rhythms, roles, spaces, budgets, metrics), financing models (including culture’s blended finance equivalent), as well as communication and strategic positioning.
  • Agenda, policy & society: Broader frameworks and analyses: policy, sector and societal levels, partnership design and evidence that connects the work to current agendas and legitimizes scaling.

Anchoring and Ecosystem

Based at Thoravej 29, Hemmersbach Studio collaborates with, among others, the Center for Art and Mental Health (CKMS), Pro tempore.art, Kunstkonsortiet, Kørner’s Art Competition, and a wide network of artists and practice partners. Their aim is simple: practical solutions where art, operations, and value come together – and where Denmark stands stronger in welfare, innovation, and sustainable development through art.
